In a heartwarming testament to the adage that "it's never too late to find love," a 93-year-old bachelor is set to tie the knot with a woman he first met a staggering 64 years ago.
Joe Potenzano, a lifelong bachelor, defies age and circumstance as he prepares to embark on a new chapter of his life alongside his 83-year-old bride-to-be, Mary Elkind.
Joe, who had been single his entire life, shared with FOX 5 that feelings of loneliness began to set in as he reached his 90s.

However, fate had a beautiful surprise in store for him. Joe's life took an unexpected turn when he reconnected with an old friend, Mary Elkind, who would soon become the love of his life.
The couple's story began in 1959 at a wedding where they were both part of the bridal party.
Mary Elkind was the maid of honour, while Joe Potenzano was the best man at his sister's wedding.
Reflecting on their first meeting, Joe fondly recalls that Mary was a nice-looking girl, though he admittedly didn't know much about her background then.
Their paths diverged after that eventful day, with Joe joining the Army and Mary pursuing a career as a ballerina at the renowned Radio City Music Hall.
Despite the physical distance, their connection endured. Mary expressed,
"I was always very close with the family, and he was always there."
It wasn't until a family gathering brought Joe and Mary back together last year that their love story began to unfold.
Summoning his courage, Joe made the first move and invited Mary out for coffee. Recalling that pivotal moment, he admitted,
"It took a lot of courage for me to say that because I never did it before."
What followed was a whirlwind romance that bridged the decades between their first meeting and the present.
The couple's shared history and newfound affection culminated in a heartwarming announcement.
Joe Potenzano and Mary Elkind are set to exchange vows in an October wedding, solidifying their love in the eyes of the world.
"I say this unashamedly. I fell in love with her and she told me she fell in love with me," Joe confessed with a smile. "What else do you want?"
In a similar heartwarming story, TUKO.co.ke reported back in the 60s getting married in your teenage years wasn't as taboo as it is today.
However, some parents did not allow it to happen. Women married young age because they were not allowed to work or have access to resources that would make their lives better.
Mirror reported, therefore, more women settled for marriage to find a better life.
This woman's parents stopped her from getting married when she was a teenager, but sixty years later, she rekindled her romance with the same man and finally tied the knot.
