Eldoret - A motorbike rider in Uasin Gishu county has painfully narrated how he lost his motorcycle and the family's land.

Sam Bwiro told Citizen TV that they were struggling to raise money for her sister to travel abroad for work.

"I paid the motorbike loan up to KSh 250,000, but because it was urgent, I had to sell it at a throwaway price, that is KSh 65,000, to raise the funds," Bwiro said.

Bwiro explained that the deal looked so good, and he decided to travel with his sister to achieve their goals separately and convince their parents to sell their piece of land.

"I also thought it was wise to travel with my sister so that we easily achieve our goals, so I convinced my parents to sell a piece of land," he painfully recounted.

He regrettably said he was forced to turn back to employment by a fellow motorbike owner to raise some money for use in the family, and yet he owned a motorbike.

The motorbike rider accused First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency of paralysing his life and that of his family,

"Right now, I do not have a motorbike. The one I am using right not belong to someone. I am just an employee, I am paying someone, yet I had my own motorbike. My future has been paralysed by this woman," he complained.

Several families have complained about the recruitment agency, saying it stole from them by promising unexisting jobs.

First Choice promises to refund money

In a ray of hope, the 36-year-old Judy Jepchirchir, at the centre of an alleged dubious overseas jobs scandal, admitted that they had not taken everyone to Qatar, but a refund was going on.

"We have admitted we did not take anyone to Qatar but are working to ensure justice is served. For those due for refunds, we are working to ensure they get their money before the end of the month," Jepchirchir said.

The controversy occurred when the agency failed to send over 2000 applicants who had been called up to work in Qatar during the 2023 World Cup.
