Nairobi - Popular Kikuyu gospel artiste Teacher Beatrice used to be identified as Beatrice Omari in the entertainment circles until her marriage ended unceremoniously a few years ago.
The last name belonged to her ex-husband, Eric Omari, who teamed up with the fetching beauty and her brother William Kamore to form the famous Samawati Band that ruled airwaves, got hired for big functions and appeared in various TV programs.
Omari and Beatrice met at the Kamata Music School, which belonged to her family and taught students how to play various instruments and dances, such as salsa.

"I used to teach dance, and he joined the class with his friends," Beatrice told TUKO Talks.
"We dated for four years; he proposed marriage after like two years but I felt like I needed time given the shakeups we had. We had communication problems; when talking, things would escalate and create a very tense environment," she continued..
She eventually agreed to marry the love of her life, and initially, everything was okay with them. He landed a job in Mombasa, and Beatrice decided to follow him.
Her decision did not, however, sit well with him as he had suggested she remains in Nairobi with their daughter and goes to Mombasa alone. She would have none of it and followed him there, eager to keep her family together.
Once they started living together in Mombasa, Beatrice claimed her husband started mistreating her; letting his actions show her he didn't want them in the city.
"I stopped my life and went to be with my husband; he wasn't used to being answerable to other people or going back home early and there we were," he revealed.
It became apparent to her that their marriage wasn't working, and she tried all methods to make it work, but things just got worse.
"I even went to prayer centres to fast, listened to all pastors and counsellors, read books and watched YouTube video nothing worked," she said.
"Communication was bad; you would try to bring out your point and it would go south. He would say don't question me," she continued.
During the COVID-19 season, things came to a head, and he lost his job, and the two had to think of something to do to make ends meet.
"I started selling vegetables in the estate and one day I was in Kongowea Market buying tomatoes when I got a text from him saying enjoy the rest of your life," said the musician.
That is how the marriage ended, and although it took Beatrice some time to accept it was over, she has taken baby steps to heal.
"There are no regrets; I don't regret choosing him. Love is a beautiful thing," said Beatrice, who is currently co-parenting successfully with her ex.
In another story, a single mother shared the messages she received from her fiance shortly after their engagement.
In the chats shared on TikTok, the man had advised the lady to sell off the engagement ring which he used in proposing to her.
Despite pleas by the single mother to make him change his mind, the young man stood his ground and insisted on cancelling the engagement.
