Nakuru - Police officers in Nakuru county are investigating the circumstances under which their colleague fatally shot his supervisor in mysterious circumstances.

Nakuru County police commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident and said police constable Jackson Konga shot and killed his supervisor Sergent Christopher Kimeli.

According to a police report seen by TUKO.co.ke, the alleged killer police officer had just signed off from night duty. The deceased sergeant was about to go pick up his child from a school when he was shot dead.

The police commander said the suspect has since been disarmed and is in custody as investigations continue.

"This morning at around 5am, it was reported by one of our officers who had heard a gunshot that one seargent Kimeli had been shot by one of his colleagues. The cause of the shooting is yet to be known," he told the media in a press briefing.

The body was moved to PNN Funeral Home, awaiting autopsy.

Makueni officer stabbed to death

This came just days after officers from Makueni were also left in shock after their female colleague was killed in cold blood.

The female police officer, identified as Diana Mwende, was stabbed to death in a harrowing attack that left Emali residents in fear and shock.

Mwende was allegedly knifed to death by a male civilian who was seen leaving her house holding the murder weapon after he allegedly committed the heinous act.

Mwende, who was attached to the Railway Police Station in Emali in Makueni, sustained serious injuries on her neck and face.

Kakamega police torches colleague's car

Elsewhere, a Kakamega police officer was arrested after setting ablaze his female colleague's car in a bizarre incident on Tuesday, August 1.

Constable Evans Kamau allegedly torched his colleague's Toyota Alliona after they had an altercation with the female police officer.

The two officers, who are neighbours, are alleged to have had an altercation on the night of Monday, July 31, and Kamau angrily stormed out with some of his possessions.
