Narok: 3 Killed, Several Injured As 3 Lorries Collide Near Mai Mahiu

Narok - Three people died on the spot after being caught in the midst of a road crash involving three lorries.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, July 25, along the Narok-Mai Mahiu road.
According to reports, the first lorry failed in overtaking a trailer, colliding with another oncoming one.
The second lorry then veered off the highway, hitting another trailer.

“As a result of the accident, three male adults who were not immediately identified died on the spot. Others sustained injuries as follows: Occupants in KCE 575N (1) Isaac Soka, 48, sustained right leg and face injuries (2) Rufus Chege, 40, sustained a fracture on his left leg (3)Unknown male adult was unconscious,” partly indicated a police report.
Another unidentified occupant was seriously injured.
Another vehicle also overturned while avoiding ramming into the accident scene but its occupants were not injured.
Bodies of the deceased were moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary, and the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Similar accident
Another accident was reported along the same road a few weeks back.
Passengers aboard an Ena Coach bus sustained injuries of varied degrees after the 47-seater overturned on Tuesday, July 4.
The accident occurred at a spot in Mau Summit, a few kilometres from the Londiani Junction, where 52 died in a horrific crash last week.
According to sources, five people were badly injured in the Tuesday accident, with the remainder suffering minor bruises.
No fatalities
The driver lost control of the bus, which veered off the highway.
Police and Red Cross personnel responded in good time; the seriously injured were rushed to the Londiani Sub County Hospital.
No fatalities were reported at the scene.
This came a couple of days after a trailer rammed into matatus, boda boda riders, and pedestrians at Londiani Junction.
The heavy truck ferrying cement, and which was heading to Kericho, was said to have lost control.
More than 45 people died at the scene with others succumbing to injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.
