Mama Aska Sigu fought hard to remain alive, but her resilience ebbed away and surrendered to fate, letting her go meet her maker.
For a painstaking three months, the accident survivor clung to life at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
However, her struggle was in vain when she lost the battle after over 12 weeks of being at the Intensive Care Unit straddled in pipes, going through surgeries and medical procedures.

Aska had survived the heartbreaking incident on May 5 when a bus they had hired to transport them to a funeral in Homa Bay lost control and crashed.
"Shortly past Kendu Bay, the driver tried to avoid a head on collision with an oncoming vehicle, causing the bus to roll before hitting sign posts and an electricity pole," family member Steve Ouko told TUKO.co.ke.
The incident wiped out seven members of the same family and one neighbour, leaving the entire region and country in shock and mourning.
When the wreckage was turned over, seven had died on the spot while the survivors were rushed to the hospital.
Of the 28 who sustained injuries, some were discharged, while others have been recuperating in different hospitals.
Mama Aska Sigu was among those who looked like she would live to tell a story with a happy ending, but that was not to be.
"Today we lay to rest Mama Aska after battling for over three months. We were hopeful she would make it, but she didn't," Steve continued.
Her burial brought back sad memories of the memorable day the other fatalities were laid to rest in an emotional sendoff in Nyakach.
During the earlier funeral attended by Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyongo, the atmosphere was heavy with grief as family, friends, and mourners gathered to pay their last respects.
Most were lost for words as six caskets, five brown and one white, sat with an eerie silence in front of the large crowd.
The devastating loss was a reminder of the urgent need for improved road safety measures as traffic accidents continue to claim countless lives across the country nearly every day.
