Nairobi - Governor Johnson Sakaja has offered to cover a young man's total university fees after he shared his life struggles.

During the unveiling of the new Imara ECD Primary Block in Kayole on Thursday, August 31, the county chief was approached by a young man from the area.

Sakaja addressed Kayole residents on the importance of taking care of their social amenities, pointing out that the money used to repair them would be used in a better venture.

The confident young man approached Sakaja, and after whispering in his ears, he offered him his seat while he made the address.

The first-term governor revealed that the young man, later identified as George Otiato Mwalumba, was an orphan and needed help.

He challenged the crowd if they wanted him to help the student study or use the money to repair the amenities the locals kept vandalising.

Sakaja vows to pay student's full school fees

Otiato informed the crowd that he had been admitted to Maseno University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to pursue a Bachelor of Arts with IT.

The county boss stated that he had taken over the sponsorship of Otiato's education for the duration of his course and asked him not to let him to work hard.

Sakaja further promised after he was done with his school work, he would help him secure a stable job.

"Now you are called George Otiato Mwalumba Sakaja. I have taken him, I will educate him until he finishes. And when he finishes, a job. And you, don't disappoint me. You'll go work hard" Sakaja said.

On Thursday, August 31, Machakos governor Wavinya Ndeti touched hearts after she vowed to pay KSh 102,000 university fees for a needy girl.

Wavinya publicly declared she would educate her for four years until she completed her university education.

She asked the little girl to work and study hard as she would be looking at her results each semester.
