US-based Kenyan TikToker Damaris Obiero has shared the unexpected reason behind her breakup with her boyfriend.

In a video posted on TikTok, Obiero revealed that her decision to end the relationship was driven by her boyfriend's love for pets.

Why Damaris Obiero dumped boyfriend

According to Obiero, her boyfriend's love for pets, particularly dogs and cats, posed challenges, especially during sleep.

She was uncomfortable with pets rubbing against her and licking her face while sleeping.

The TikToker explained that the pets' behaviour in America, including sitting on tables and sleeping on beds, differed from her experiences in Kenya.

"Since I put my relationship in public, I want to state that the relationship is no longer in existence publicly. Nothing is harder than dating someone who loves pets (dogs and cats). You can't sleep when a pet is rubbing their head against your body. It is not easy.

The pets we have here (in America) are not like those in Kenya. You can't stop them from sitting on the table or sleeping on the bed. These even lick your face when you are sleeping. I couldn't take it anymore. That is the main reason why we broke up," she said.

Why was Damaris Obiero hospitalised?

A few days ago, Obiero recounted a heartbreak that had left her hospitalised and on the brink of losing her life.

In a TikTok video, Taking to TikTok, she revealed the details of the heartbreak she endured in 2017.

The young woman disclosed that her then-boyfriend abruptly ended their five-year-long relationship.

The unexpected breakup affected her mental and emotional well-being, so she required medical attention.

"I almost died of heartbreak in 2017. I told myself I wouldn't love anybody again with my heart. I can only love you with my head and my legs. This was me in 2017, admitted because of a man. A man wanted to kill me...," she said.
