He also offered 2,000 dollars (approximately KSh 2.6 million) to secure Athiak's hand in marriage.

"However, the negotiations are far from over, as Chol is expected to present his proposal in the coming days," reads part of the report.

Chol is yet to reveal the dowry he is offering, but it is rumoured that he will pay 350 cows and a Toyota V6.

Decision to be made in Jonglei

According to The African History, he will also build a standalone four-bedroom house for the girl’s family.

The final decision is anticipated at a cattle camp in Jonglei State, where the negotiation process will culminate.

In Jieng culture, dowries hold significant value, with offerings reaching up to 500 cows and substantial monetary sums.

Man visits in-laws with new TV, other expensive goodies

Back home, social media user Manu Kenji shared two TikTok videos that showed her brother's goodies to his in-laws.

Crates of sodas, bread, vegetables, chicken and bananas were presented at the in-laws' house, among other gifts like a TV and fridge.

The gifts were well-arranged next to each other as the man showed off his gifts, making a name for himself before the in-laws.

Manu, who noted that her brother was married to a Ugandan woman, shared another video of a truck carrying a gigantic water tank and chair.
