Nairobi - Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has urged President William Ruto to sack Agriculture and Livestock Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi.
In a statement on Monday, May 13, after an 11-member committee determined that Linturi's impeachment motion's grounds were not substantiated, Khalwale stated that he firmly believed Ruto would act on the matter.
The lawmaker said it was a hard decision that he was confident the head of state would make in his promise to fight graft in government.

Khalwale stated that Ruto would eventually stand with farmers affected by the fake fertiliser hitting the Kenyan market.
"I firmly believe that on this one, the president will use his emmence constitutional powers and make the hard decision to keep his course on the fight against corruption by standing with the farmers who were scammed," he wrote.
The senator further pointed out that the success of a special parliamentary committee is hinged on the actions of its chairperson.
Khalwale called out Marsabit county woman representative and Deputy Majority Whip Naomi Waqo, casting a shadow over her committee leadership.
"The fulcrum of a special parliamentary committee is its chairman. Hon Waqo, chair of the select committee on dismissal of Mithika Linturi! The mercurial & incomparable late Hon Dr. Bonaya Godana, who hailed from her community, might surely have turned in his grave!" Khalwale stated.
Earlier, after a tumultuous period, Linturi was spared from impeachment as Members of Parliament voted against his removal from office.
Despite the inquiry, only four of the 11 committee members voted in favour of Linturi's dismissal, resulting in his continuation as CS.
Speaker Moses Wetang'ula announced the committee's immediate resolution following the end of the investigation.
