Which directions did cop ask kids to look?

The cop, in his full uniform, held a clipboard in his right hand and a few papers as he taught the kids.

He arranged the kids in a straight line as he stepped back to the road, creating a distance between him and the children.

"You look?" he asked, gesturing with his hand as the kids responded, "Right, left, then right again."

They repeated the exercise before they held each other's hands and crossed the road at the pedestrian crossing.
