Nairobi - The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) has announced several vacancies, asking interested Kenyans to apply.

Which positions has the Ombudsman advertised?

In an advertisement dated Tuesday, April 30, the commission, which is a constitutional commission, said it was seeking to recruit five people in different departments.

"The commission is also charged with overseeing and enforcing the implementation of the Access to Information Act, 2016. The commission seeks to fill the following positions," the advert seen by TUKO.co.ke read.

The commission seeks to recruit a senior compliance officer, planning and strategy officer, investigations officer, clerical officer and driver, all on permanent and pensionable terms.

The minimum qualifications differ depending on the job group, with some only needing a grade D in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

For clerical officers, Kenyans with KCSE mean grade C- (minus) or equivalent qualification; Certificate in Business Administration lasting not less than 6 months from a recognised institution are encouraged to apply.

For the position of the driver, the KCSE mean grade of D or equivalent is the minimum qualification requirement.

How to apply for Ombudsman jobs

Candidates for the driver position are also required to have a valid BCE driving license free from any endorsement, a first aid certificate course, and a certificate of good conduct.

Interested Kenyans have been asked to visit the commission's website, www.ombudsman.go.ke, for job specifications and other requirements.

Qualified and interested candidates have been asked to send hard copies of their application letters to the specified address before May 14, 2024, at 5.00pm.

"All interested candidates who meet the job indent for this position are encouraged to send a hard copy of their application letter, curriculum vitae and copies of their academic and professional certificates together with a clear National Identification card by 14th May’ 2024 at 5.00p.m. to the postal address below," the commission said.

What are the requirements for Safaricom jobs?

Elsewhere, Kenya's leading telecommunications firm, Safaricom, invited applications for new job openings.

The vacancies have a tight application deadline scheduled for the last week of April 2024 and the first week of May 2024.

Three of the vacancies should be applied on or before Monday, April 29, at 11:59 pm.
