An 18-year-old student was apprehended on Monday, May 27, following an incident where he stabbed his English teacher before fleeing through the classroom window.
The student reportedly grabbed the female from behind, before stabbing her in the face and causing panic among the students in the classroom.
The student abandoned his knife when he fled.
According to Punch Newspaper, the public prosecutor, Eric Bouillard, dismissed any religious or radical motives, stating that the suspect conveyed feelings of "unhappiness."

The young man had attended the school for three years and returned on Monday after being absent due to illness for a while. According to fellow students, he seemed cheerful that morning.
According to the report done by the media outlet, the prosecutor stated that the suspect purchased the knife last week fully aware that he intended to use it.
He added that the student had expressed feeling overwhelmed.
"He saw this knife and bought it, knowing that he was going to do something with it," he said.
He added that counselling was provided to pupils and teachers after the attack as a probe into "attempted murder" has been initiated.
Reports further stated that the teacher sustained a facial injury that was not considered as life threatening.
Earlier, Residents of Liten in Kericho county were left in shock after a 16-year-old boy stabbed a 65-year-old man to death.
The stabbed man happened to the lover to the boy's mother. The Form One student at Kiburus Secondary school was reported to have been angered after he found the old man having sex with his mother who is a widow.
As per Mercy Mutai, a neighbor who overheard the altercation involving the trio, the boy stabbed the man in the chest, resulting in his death as he was preparing to depart from the residence.
