A Form 3 student from Maji Mazuri Day School is fighting for his life in a referral hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officers.
The ordeal began when the said officers reportedly targeted Mwangi's mother, subjecting her to harassment and unjust treatment.
Mwangi's mother was apprehended by KFS officers and accused of trespassing in the forest.

Demand for a bribe of KSh 2000 ensued, but Mewangi's mother lacked the full amount.
Desperate, she reached out to her son, Mwangi, to bring the remaining sum. Throughout this ordeal, she remained restrained in handcuffs.
The situation took a dehumanizing turn when Mwangi's mother requested permission to use the restroom, only to be denied by the officers.
Instead, she was coerced into relieving herself in front of them, a humiliating demand that prompted Mwangi to question their motives.
In response to Mwangi's inquiry, the KFS officers allegedly resorted to violence, assaulting the teenager with crude weapons, leaving him severely injured and clinging to life.
He was rushed to Eldama Ravine Hospital, still in handcuffs, before subsequently being referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) for further treatment.
For three agonizing days, Mwangi has been unable to communicate, his condition critical.
TUKO.co.ke previously reported President William Ruto ordered the immediate sacking of 23 Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officials linked to corruption dealings.
During the pass-out of KFS graduates in Gilgil, Nakuru County, on Wednesday, October 11, Ruto said the affected officers had been implicated in corrupt dealings that destroyed many forests.
The president ordered the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to complete the investigation against the 23 government officials and ensure they were taken to court.
"I have instructed the KFS board that all those engaged in corruption be fired and be taken to court. We have already found 23 forest managers and rangers," Ruto said.
