Homa Bay - Tragedy strikes Kisaku village in Sindo town as the community reels from the loss of three lives in the wake of torrential rains and flash floods.
Among the victims were a mother and her child, who were swept away while travelling towards the town on Sunday, April 28.
In addition to the fatalities, two individuals sustained injuries, and two others remain unaccounted for, compounding the anguish of the village. At the same time, 50 households were forced to flee their homes, as reported by Ramogi TV.

"We are deeply saddened to report the tragic loss of three lives in Sindo, Suba South last evening, with two individuals still missing after a devastating mudslide caused by flash floods ravaged the fishing town and displaced over 50 households," said Homa Bay county governor Gladys Wanga.
Governor Wanga announced the formation of a collaborative disaster response team to address the crisis.
Over 1000 affected individuals are receiving crucial aid at Sindo Primary School and Nyabomo Primary School.
Wanga assured that the displaced families would find refuge and support within neighbouring communities as search efforts persist for the missing persons.
"In response to this catastrophic event, we have established a joint disaster response team that is actively providing essential humanitarian support to over 1000 people at Sindo Primary School and Nyabomo Primary School.
Tracing desks have been set up for search, rescue, and recovery efforts, with identification and registration of affected individuals ongoing. Displaced households are being relocated and integrated into surrounding communities," she said.
She also issued a plea for caution to all residents, emphasising the ongoing risk posed by heavy rainfall across the region.
In another story, three homes collapsed in Kiganjo village, Murang'a county killing four people.
The victims were buried alive together with their livestock by landslides resulting from the relentless heavy rain.
Rescue operations are currently underway for the missing two people.
