President William Ruto's visit to the United States has sparked varied reactions among Kenyans.
In response to concerns raised about the trip's cost, government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has issued a strong rebuttal.
Mwaura clarified that the president's visit was aimed at seeking employment opportunities and advancing other development agendas for the country.

"You're asking irrelevant questions and showing ill intent. Ushindwe! The president has gone to seek development for us as the leader of Kenya, yet you're fixated on transportation costs," he said, according to a clip shared by Citizen TV.
Reports indicate that President Ruto opted for a luxury Abu Dhabi aircraft, Boeing 737-700, instead of the traditional presidential jet.
This aircraft can fly continuously for at least 10 hours without the need to land.
Of particular concern to many was the exorbitant cost associated with this choice, with the airline charging KSh 2.4 million per hour of flight, totalling KSh 98 million for the 18-hour trip from Nairobi to Atlanta, where the head of state was scheduled to commence his trip.
Meanwhile, comedian Eddy Butita was thrilled to be in the delegation that accompanied the president to the US.
Through a social media post, he appreciated the president stating that the decision to pick was a true definition of Ruto's ambition to uplift the entertainment industry.
Other leaders who accompanied the president included Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, among others.
