A group of men who were duped into paying KSh 300,000 for non-existent jobs in Dubai have shared that they slept hungry and couldn't access a bathroom to relieve themselves.
According to a video shared by @Joycemaina12, aka Mama Boys, the men were at Sharja Gate or Alnadha Sharja.
According to Bayut, Sharjah Gate Tower in Al Nahda is the second tallest residential building in the emirate. It consists of 256 expansive one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.

Speaking in the video, Joyce said that the two came in a group of six men, and they were all promised security jobs.
"My name is Joshua and I came to Dubai on March 6, 2024. My agent had promised me a security job but when I came to the ground I found things were different. They have been taking us round and round and I am almost at overstay," said one man.
"They had rented a bed space for us but sadly we were later chased. We lived under the stairs where we went hungry. Despite the tribulations I can't go back home because I took KSh 300,000 loan, how will I pay it?" said Joshua.

In another story, the desire to return home for over 60 Kenyans who had been living in Dubai illegally left them stranded at the Al Awir deportation Centre.
This is after the UAE government granted a three-month amnesty for them to exit without paying fines, a period that ended on October 31.
Most of them were unable to raise money for tickets and were appealing to the government to come through and assist them before time runs out.
