How did Kioi Junior die?

Kioi passed away on April 29 at Kenyatta University Referral Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.

Despite his upbringing in a religious environment, Kioi publicly identified as an atheist in 2020.

He questioned the existence of God and Satan, attributing his atheism to critical thinking and scepticism.

Despite his beliefs, he continued to perform songs about God for entertainment.

“I live as if there is no God and I don’t think people should lie to themselves. All I need is proof that either God or Satan exists. Faith is ignorance," he previously said in an interview with a Kikuyu radio station.

Kioi was associated with the Global Atheist Republic in the USA.

Are atheists devil worshippers?

Elsewhere, the founder and president of the Atheists in Kenya Society, Harrison Mumia, dismissed notions that the group's members are devil worshippers.

In an interview, Mumia also refuted assertions that the society members' lack of belief in God was a clever disguise for devil worship.

He explained that the members do not believe in the existence of God, Satan, and other deities or the supernatural.

According to the president, life is more significant than the belief in God or the tenets of traditional or mainstream religions, Christianity and Islam.

Mumia called Kenyans to question their beliefs and grow more critical of religions.

The president asserted that Kenyans must break open what they believe, just as he did during his formative campus years.
