Kisii Headteacher Found Dead In Well After Missing For 5 Days

Homa Bay - Aloo estate in Oyugis town has been thrown into mourning following the discovery of a lifeless body wallowing in a water well.

The body was established to be of Raganga Primary School headteacher Richard Kobe Otieno who went missing on Tuesday, April 16.

According to Citizen Digital, the body was found by Kobe's son near their homestead when he went to draw water from the well.

The body was retrieved by the police and transported to Rachuonyo South Sub-County Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

Rachuonyo South Sub-County Police Commander Lilies Wachira said the police have launched investigations to find out what led to the demise of the Kisii teacher.

When did Richard Kobe's family begin search?

According to his family, Kobe left his compound without his mobile phone, leaving them with hope that he would return.

However, when he failed to show up, they began an extensive search for him, including in the neighbouring constituency.

Their search ended abruptly on Sunday morning upon receiving news of a body found in a well.

In another story, a 40-year-old man from Kitutu Chache South in Kisii county was found dead in a well.

The police who retrieved the body initiated investigations to find out if the man was killed or if he accidentally slipped into the well.

The incident instilled fear in the residents, who called on the government to beef up security in the area, citing several incidents of people being killed in the region.
