Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has issued a firm rebuke to Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya, expressing his disapproval of the governor's recurrent public confrontations.

In his capacity as both a Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and a prominent public figure, Mudavadi clarified that he harbours no aspirations for a gubernatorial seat in any county.

"You continue insulting us at your village gatherings, yet we have shown magnanimity and are moving forward. First, I will never be a governor. I did my role as an MP and am now a public officer. But for heaven's sake, do not wake up to talk about Mudavadi," he said.

Furthermore, Mudavadi defended Wetang'ula against Natembeya's public accusations, asserting that the governor's contentious remarks serve little purpose in securing re-election.

What advice did Mudavadi give Natembeya?

Instead, Mudavadi urged Natembeya to prioritise tangible development projects aimed at improving the lives of Trans Nzoia county residents.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary urged the county boss to redirect his efforts towards initiatives that foster positive change within the community, rather than engaging in public disputes.

"Tell the people of your area what you are going to do for them. Construct roads, hospitals, schools, and boost agriculture. Talking about Mudavadi and Wetang'ula will not guarantee your re-election. What will give you confidence in your people is what you do for them," he added.

Natembeya claims Mudavadi lacks ambition

In a past event, Natembeya claimed that Mudavadi lacks ambition in the political world.

He argued that the Foreign Affairs CS served in the government during the reign of the deceased former president Daniel Moi, while the current head of state, President William Ruto, was in high school.

He also held Mudavadi and Wetang'ula accountable for the lack of development in western counties.
