"My message to the politicians who are in office now is to remember to serve the people who elected you. Always remain humble," Kagure said.

Kagure, who was the chief guest at the fundraising event, which was aimed at raising funds to complete the construction of the church building, helped raise over KSh 2 million.

Tim Wanyonyi contributes KSh 100k

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi also sent his contribution of KSh 100,000 towards the harambee.

Speaking at the same event, Bishop Edward Buri challenged Kenyans to wage a genuine fight against corruption, not just lip service.

According to Buri, most of the calls against corruption in Kenya only end at the podium, as politicians never mean what they say.

"A very important thing in our community is that we are running short of people in leadership who not just speak values but live them because we can all say integrity, we can all say anti-corruption, and we can all say these things.
Any tongue can speak these things; even a lying tongue can lie about these things. But what we need is people who even sometimes, because we have too much speech going on, too much talk going on, now we even need people who don't talk much but live out the values much," Buri said.

Which groups did Agnes Kagure meet?

Meanwhile, Kagure vowed to scale up empowerment programmes across Nairobi county.

On Monday, May 27, Kagure held a consultative meeting with women leaders driving changes in the 17 constituencies.

Kagure, through her Agnes Kagure Foundation, wanted to understand the unique needs of every constituency before the planned empowerment programmes.
