Led by majority leader Peter Imwatok and Speaker Kennedy Ng'ondi, the MCAs said Sakaja's leadership had transformed the city for the short time the governor had been at the helm of the city county's leadership.

They faulted their colleagues from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party whom they accused of being staged against the governor by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

"We want to ask the UDA MCAs to stop working under the instructions of Deputy President Rigathi Gachaua. You won't succeed. We are aware you are sponsoring an impeachment motion. We are ready," said Imwatok.

Imwatok asked Gachagua to allow Sakaja time and space to work for the city electorate.

Imwatok sentiments were echoed by Ikolomani MP Benard Shinali, who asked those fighting governor sakaja to respect his office and instead back him as he strives to deliver on his manifesto.

"Is it that difficult for us to respect the office he holds? The time will come when Nairobians will put him on the scale and decide whether to re-elect him or not. I also think UDA leaders should learn from me because I am working with the president for the advantage of the people from Ikolomani," said Shinali.

Gachagua's keen interest on Nairobi

Gachagua had earlier declared that he is invested in the political development of the city county.

He said he would be taking a keen interest in the goings-on at City Hall.

Gachagua revealed the resolve was not only by him but also by President William Ruto.

Given the interests in the city and its significance to the country, Gachagua said it would be rational that the national government spotlight the administration of Sakaja.
