A woman identified as Carol Gatwiri has lamented about her car that was stolen from right under her nose.

Why Carol Gatwii called Cooperative Bank

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke in an interview, Gatwiri said that she woke up one morning on November 17, 2018, ready to drive to work, but when she got downstairs, there was nothing parked where they left it.

"I left my house with my keys in hand and wondered if I left the car at work. I took it with me to the house, or if I had it in my pocket. It is like I am still dreaming," she said.

"I remember calling several people to ask them if they knew where the car was. I even called Cooperative Bank to ask them if they had money in my account; just in case I sold a car without knowing. Whoever took my vehicle, I have never healed. I do pray the car will come one day," she added.

When TUKO.co.ke asked if Gatwi had involved the authorities, she revealed that she had reported several times.

"I keep going there and they only tell me that they are are investigating the case, to go home and I shall be called when they get any news. Every time I go there, I leave money," said Gatwiri.

Kenyans react to the news:

Sam Thuo:

"Most vehicles and motorcycles hua zinaibiwa na mwenye alikuuzia. Wengi hua na duplicate key and a tracker. Probably the car had a tracker enye wewe haukujua na hakukwambia, so the seller was still tracking the car and after umelala akakujia na akaenda nayo. Other thieves ni wale wa car wash. Be careful kwenye unaoshea gari coz some are criminals,if possible usiachie mtu wa carwash funguo za gari. Always install your own tracker after buying a vehicle, change ignation of your car, have a car cut off always."

Beatrice Wahome:

"Same here. Mzee aliamka asubuhi na mapema na funguo za motorbike kutoka nje hakuamini aliniita kama ameshtuka hakuna motorbike na ndio ilikuwa kila kitu. By then nlikuwa expectant na nlikuwa niende C'S three days before. Immediately pressure ikapanda so singeingia theatre kuteseka kwenye nliteseka Mungu atanilipishia tu siku moja."

Virginiah Kimani:

"Ya my son ili ibiwa 2017 aka ipata 2021...mambo na ku heal naku elewa sana usijali.Kuna God of another chance."

Daniel:

"Pole, iliimbiwa ikiwa home compound ama Kwa plot? Those thieves are people well known you, they tracked your movements."

Gracious Muiruri:

"Wooi shukuru Mungu atakurudishia gari nyingine.Mimi ninalia kuuawa kwa my hubby akinyanganywa gari, l couldn't imagine how."

Method thieves are using to vandalise car parts

Another story revealed that there is even more reason for owners of popular vehicles with fast-moving spare parts to be worried.

This is after a video emerged showing the new way thieves had invented stealing from parked cars.

They gained entry into the vehicle and vandalised it from the inside; a ploy to help them camouflage from the public eye.
