The family of John Ng'ang'a laid to rest its seven kin who perished in a road accident in Makueni.
It was all sombre mood as the hearses with the bodies made their way to the venue in Karirikania as family and mourners gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased.
Also in attendance were relatives who survived the crash with injuries; they could be seen in arm slings and bandages, with others on wheelchairs.

The send-off came days after Kenyans of goodwill chipped in to help the family foot all the bills and facilitate their burial by procuring coffins and hearses.

Ng'ang'a's extended family left Nakuru for Mombasa over Easter.
After their holiday, the family embarked on their return to Nakuru.
Ng'ang'a, his wife, and three children travelled back using private means.
The other members of the extended family were to board a bus from Mombasa to Nairobi.
With the uneasiness of waiting for long, they opted to board a matatu and travel together as a group.
The vehicle they boarded was ill-fated. It crashed at the Salama area in Makueni, killing seven of them, with others critically injured.
The accident claimed 10 lives overall.
The bodies were transferred to the Umash Funeral Home in Nakuru.
Comic Eric Omondi mobilised financial support for the bereaved family, having been burned by the costs in the hospital and the morgue where the bodies were preserved.
Eric ran a successful funds drive, helping the family procure coffins and settle other send-off costs.
