A loving and caring father has been left shattered in an attempt to help his children.

Job opportunities in Canada promise

"They opened this office last year. They said their work was to help children go to work abroad. We went to the office and talked to them, and they explained what was required from our end. They said we could pay them to cater for everything if we had money. They said if we paid at least KSh 350,000, it would cater for everything," the father from Nandi County told Hubz Media.

The money would then be used for the application, visa, and the kids' security abroad until they get a work permit.

Lagat said the payment was made last year, 2023, before going home to wait for the company's feedback.

"I was happy when I received some documents recently, hoping it was good news. However, we were told we were unlucky and did not qualify," he said.

Lagat said he spent KSh 1.5 million, which he raised by selling property in the hope of helping his three sons.

However, the shattering news left him in disappointment and despair, like many others who had trusted the company.

George Maina, a father of two from Nakuru told TUKO.co.ke he sympathised with the father trying to help his sons.

"Parents will always want the best for their kids and would go the extra mile to see their kids have better lives by making the most of every opportunity. however, I would urge parents to be cautious. This man sold his property which may have been part of his will to his sons but now it is no more. As much as we parents may be desperate at time, let us be careful," he said.

Similarly, a video captured the heartfelt and raw pain of a man whose promises were not met after moving heaven and earth.

The desperate man whom an agency promised an employment opportunity abroad cried outside their office.

The Kenyan man claimed he was promised a job opportunity in Canada and had already paid KSh 60,000 to the company.
