Former Nyeri Township MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has shared the first academic feat of a needy boy he helped start secondary education.
Benny Theuri had been stranded at home as his peers joined Form One.
With no hope in sight, he intercepted the former lawmaker on a Sunday as the latter came from church and shared his plight with him.

Touched, Ngunjiri took it upon himself to mobilise help, ultimately seeing the boy join Othaya Boys High School.
Theuri met with the politician three months later, as he embarked on the April holidays after closure of school.
The former MP was impressed by the remarkable results the boy posted despite having joined school later than his peers.
"The boy brought his report. The results look very good, especially considering how late he reported to school. I'm very proud of him," said the former lawmaker.
With good prospects on the boy's side, Ngunjiri committed to supporting him through his schooling journey.
"As Team Ngunjiri, we have taken this young man up as one of our children, and God willing, we will walk with him as long as God takes him," said Ngunjiri.
