Tanzanian Women Say They've Never Seen Beautiful Kenyan Ladies: "Sio Wazuri"

• The video attracted the fury of Kenyans on social media, who rallied each other to hit back

Two Tanzanian women have drawn the ire of social media users after declaring that there are no beautiful women in Kenya.

Are Kenyan women beautiful?

Reacting to a report that ranked Kenya's women as the fourth most beautiful women in Africa, the two women said the position was underserved.

In the report, Ethiopian women ranked first, Nigerians came second, then Tanzanians, followed by Kenyans and South Africans in fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

According to the two, Tanzanians deserved to be ranked first since all women in the Samia Suluhu-led country are beautiful.

"There are no beautiful women in Kenya. Have you seen any? Maybe it is because I haven't been to Kenya, but Tanzanians deserved to rank first. All women here in Tanzania are beautiful," said one of the women.

In response, irked Kenyans on social media called out the two for disparaging fellow women for clout.

"Kenyan ladies are the best. Our women are bright, hard-working and all pretty.”

"I am Tanzanian, but these guys just want beef with Kenyans. Kenyans are gorgeous."

Ruth Rosah:

"They should say whatever they are saying in English."

“Today, Kenyan men are defending us. I feel so good. "

"They have already started a battle."

" I am more beautiful than those women speaking. I come in peace."

"It's funny because their beauty can be wiped away with a towel.”

“They have started a fight they can’t win.”

What are qualities of Tanzanian women?

Some Kenyan men, however, support the Tanzanian women's sentiments.

During a tour of Tanzania in January 2024, a Kenyan man praised the country's women, saying they are the most beautiful.

He added that, unlike their Kenyan counterparts, Tanzanian women are down-to-earth, resourceful, polite, caring, interesting, patient and attentive.

In a Reddit post, the man also noted that they are exceptionally trusting of strangers, respectful, and hospitable.
