American actor, filmmaker and playwright Tyler Perry has apologised for not being present during President William Ruto's visit to his studio complex.
On the occasion of the tour, which took place on Tuesday, May 21, Ruto was accompanied by his family, the US Ambassador Meg Whitman, and other members of his delegation.
The group was cordially received by American television personality Steve Harvey, who guided them through the premises.

Taking to social media, Perry cited a packed schedule as the reason for his absence and conveyed his disappointment at not being able to adjust his commitments to meet President Ruto and his party.
"Unfortunately, my schedule was booked, and I’m heartbroken that I couldn’t change things in time to greet President Ruto of Kenya as he and his family and delegation toured Tyler Perry Studios," Perry said.
Nevertheless, Perry viewed this incident as a compelling incentive to finalise his much-anticipated journey to Kenya.
He extended his gratitude to Harvey for graciously stepping in to host the President and emphasized that his own trip to Kenya is now imminent rather than uncertain.
"The good news is that means I will have to make my way to Kenya very soon! I am honoured, humbled, and thankful that you stopped by President Ruto. Thank you Steve Harvey for stepping in. What a blessing," he added.
A clip shared on Eddie Butita's X page showed the creative and Ruto touring the expansive grounds.
During their tour, the president expressed admiration for the state-of-the-art facilities at TPS.
He remarked that having studios like these in Kenya would be a significant step forward for the local film industry.
