A video of pilot George Magondu's three children confused as they played near their father's coffin has left Kenyans in tears. Magondu was laid to rest on April 27.

Young family George Magondu left behind

Magondu, the pilot of the ill-fated chopper that crashed on April 18, killing 10, among them CDF Francis Ogolla, was happily married to a fellow military officer, captain Brenda Okello.

The couple was blessed with three handsome boys: Liam Wallace Magondu Kabue, aged six, Ryan Walter Kabue and Neil William Kabue, both aged four.

Magondu and his children shared a strong bond, and while eulogising him, his mother-in-law, Maureen Akinyi, said his children, grappling with the loss of their father, kept asking for him since the tragic incident.

Video of Magondu's kids touching his coffin goes viral

In a video shared by Brenda, the three little boys moved around their father's coffin as they touched it, and one of the twins kept calling him.

"Daddy haezi ongea, daddy kufa (Dad can't talk, he is dead)," Liam, the eldest, could be heard telling his siblings.

Brenda shared the emotional video, asking widows on TikTok to reach out to her.

"Anyone who has lost a husband, please text back," she captioned the video.

  • Brenda shared a video, presumably from their last night out, and they looked happy as they enjoyed their date.
  • Tabitha Akinyi, the wife of Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, shared a screenshot of their last call before he died in the chopper crash, moving Kenyans to tears.
  • Sergent Rose Nyawira, the personal photographer of General Ogolla, was buried on April 25 in Kirinyaga county.
