Why does Ruto prefer spiritual healing in North Rift?

During his speech, Ruto underscored his firsthand observations of the challenges facing various parts of the country, emphasising that many issues require spiritual nourishment rather than solely developmental interventions.

"We are also spiritual beings. There is a lot of work we can do as the government through the powers bestowed on us, but there are those who need powers beyond us. And that is why we invite God," said Ruto.

He stressed that addressing spiritual problems is paramount as they can hinder overall development efforts.

"We have deployed a large number of officers there. But there are spiritual challenges that require spiritual solutions and therefore we are going to work with you so that we ensure that there is proper governance. We also find the word of God finding its way to those regions and to those people," he added.
