Nancy Asiya, a young mum from Baringo, has triumphantly returned to high school years after she dropped out because of early pregnancy.
Speaking to NTV at Akoret Girls High School in Baringo, the 36-year-old shared that she sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) 10 years ago and later joined high school.
Unfortunately, she was headstrong at the time, and things did not go well for her; she fell pregnant and had to drop out of school.

"I was distracted by so much and did not live a good life. So when I fell pregnant I got married," said Asiya.
"I decided to return to school because the kind of life I was living was not very good; it was hard to raise kids; living without a job or money was not easy. My husband is just there, he also didn't manage to complete his education. I asked him to take care of the kids so that our life in future can be better," she added.
Many people have been visiting Asiya in school to make sure that she truly went back to learn.
The sprawling school was started by World Vision to rescue girls who had to go through mutilation of their bodies as a rite of passage. It is also a rescue centre for girls like Asiya, who had a difficult time growing up.
In another story, Claris Kadesa decided to resume her education ten years after she dropped out of school to get married.
The young mother of three is now back in Form Four, determined to complete her secondary education.
Kadesa left school while in Form Three to marry her then-lover, who was also a student, and they welcomed their first child a year later.
