Migori - The family of Denis Ndhiwa in Rongo is engulfed in grief following the tragic death of his daughter in a crash on the Mai Mahiu escarpment, Nakuru, on Wednesday, September 11.
Becky Vivian, 23, was the sole fatality when a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker collided with a Galaxy matatu transporting a body to Rongo for burial.
Becky was among the mourners, and the deceased was her uncle. Police reported that the tanker lost its brakes before crashing into the matatu.

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, the family expressed their deep sorrow as they paid tribute to Becky. Her sister, Beverline Sonia, tearfully shared Becky's achievements since her graduation in 2023.
“We are heartbroken. Becky was a light to our family, but now we are shattered. She has done so much for us. We do not know how to cope with her death. My sister was loved, a generous soul that everyone admired. She loved God. We expected her to do more, but she is now gone," Beverline disclosed.
As the eldest of five siblings, Becky had started helping their father with school fees for her younger brothers and sisters after securing a job at a private school, where she worked only for the second term.
"Becky was preparing to help my sister transfer from an education course to a nursing programme at Mount Kenya University, where she had secured a spot. Now, we don't know how we will manage,” Beverline said through her tears.
Beverline described the devastating impact of Becky’s death on their mother, who is deeply affected by the loss of both her brother and daughter.
"My mother is inconsolable, and the news is too much for her to bear, especially with her health issues," she said.
During the interview, her younger siblings were crying while asking for Becky, unable to understand her absence.
“Tunataka Becky! Tunataka Becky! Ako wapi? Leteni Becky,” she cried out.
Becky’s father announced that her body had been transferred to Rongo, where she will await her final journey.
Meanwhile, her uncle will be laid to rest on Friday, September 13.
