Jumaisi escaped alongside 12 other detainees believed to be Eritreans, who were being held in his cell for illegal immigration.

They had cut through the wire mesh at the basking bay and scaled the perimeter wall.
Following the escape, the police station has been declared a crime scene and investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reported that Jumaisi confessed to murdering 42 women and disposing of their bodies in the Kware dumping site, just 100 meters from his residence and close to the Kware Police Station.
In other news, eight police officers, including the OCPD and OCS, were interdicted and arrested after the 13 suspects successfully found their way out.
Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli revealed that the preliminary probe showed the incident was an inside job.
With search operations still ongoing to investigate potential leads regarding the escapees' location, Masengeli committed that the eight individuals would be subject to the full force of the law if the findings implicate their participation in the incident.
