Nairobi - ODM party secretary general Edwin Sifuna has accused President William Ruto's administration of being responsible for recent cases of abductions.

What Edwin Sifuna said about recent abductions

Speaking in the Senate on Thursday, September 19, Sifuna asked Ruto and Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to explain to the public the whereabouts of abducted Kenyans who have been missing for a couple of weeks now.

The Nairobi senator said it is unacceptable that, despite promising to stop extrajudicial killings and abductions, such continue to happen under "the watch of the president".

According to the ODM secretary general, police officers are abducting innocent Kenyans, and Ruto, as the head of the government, should take responsibility.

"I will stand by the truth without fear. It is the responsibility of the government to protect the life of Kenyans. It is public knowledge that these people are being abducted by police officers, it is his government, so he cannot run away from his responsibility," Sifuna said.

Who abducted missing Dela MCA Yusuf Ahmed?

Meanwhile, a taxi driver claimed that missing Dela ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yusuf Ahmed was abducted by five gunmen in two Prados along Enterprise Road.

Peter Wambua, a driver with the hailing app Farasi, claimed that he picked up Ahmed from South C Estate on September 13 and was headed to Pangani Heights when a white and black Prado Landcruiser suddenly blocked them.

He made the revelations on Tuesday, September 17, when he had accompanied the missing MCA’s relatives to court.

Ahmed’s family moved to court and filed an application seeking the court to compel the state to produce him.
