The University of Eldoret is mourning the loss of one of its newest students, Kenta Fredrick, who tragically passed away just days after being admitted to campus.
Kenta is a recent alumnus of Olkiriane Secondary School where he graduated in 2023.

His peers fondly remembered him as a mathematics enthusiast with a bright future.
Stanley Rolihlahla Mandela, a close friend of Kenta, shared a moving tribute on social media, calling him a hero who left too soon.
"A hero has fallen, a mathematics enthusiast has gone too early," he wrote. "May you go dance with angels."
Further details surrounding his death remain unclear, but the university administration has offered assurance that they will support those affected by the loss.
