He was laid to rest at Kibisorwet village, Kiplellji sub-location (Taabet), Chesoen ward in Bomet county.
"Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support, love, and kindness shown to us during the recent loss of our beloved Felix Kipyegon. Your comforting words, prayers, and presence have been a great source of strength for us during this difficult time.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to attend the funeral, send a message or offer assistance. Your generosity and compassion have touched our hearts and will never be forgotten," the family of the late Kipyegon shared in a document seen by TUKO.co.ke.
Bernard Ng'eno, Kipyegon's brother, told TUKO.co.ke that Celestine Korir, their mum, was overwhelmed by emotions as she saw her son in the coffin.
"It was a tough time, but she will be stronger soon. It is difficult for the family because of our high hopes for him. I do not even have the energy to understand what happened to Kipyegon. I am not just convinced that Kipyegon left like that. Something is not adding up. May he rest in peace," he said.
In another story, the University of Eldoret mourned the loss of one of its newest students, Kenta Fredrick, who tragically passed away just days after being admitted to campus.
Stanley Rolihlahla Mandela, a close friend of Kenta, shared a moving tribute on social media, calling him a hero who left too soon.
Further details surrounding his death remained unclear, but the university administration offered assurance that they would support those affected by the loss.
