President William Ruto’s son George has acquired a new matatu after making a splash with Money Fest.

Which matatus does George Ruto own?

Money Fest made waves in August after being accused of flouting traffic rules and lacking the necessary certification from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

The PSV was touted by some as a Kenya One contender, a title given to Nairobi’s hottest matatu.

However, Money Fest faced stiff competition from Matrix, which operated along the Embakasi route.

Brian Wanyama, alias Graff Matwana, confirmed that George had bought Matrix. The purchase makes George the investor with the hottest matatus on the road.

“The deal was finalised last week,” Graff told TUKO.co.ke.

He also disclosed that George bought the green and black-themed matatu for KSh 8.7 million.

“Matrix changed routes from Embakasi to Ongata Rongai,” he said.

However, the move was not a surprise as George’s driver had previously hinted at it.

Speaking amid the Money Fest controversy, the driver defended George, while saying that he planned on investing more in the industry.

“This vehicle is servicing a loan at KCB. He has to pay. He is our brother who is trying to uplift us as youth. He has purchased this vehicle and is soon acquiring another one,” the driver said.

The purchase elicited mixed reactions, as those along the Ongata Rongai route celebrated the move.

How much does Money Fest earn?

George's first PSV is in high demand, translating into good returns for George.

Racquel Wachira told TUKO.co.ke that passengers highly seek Money Fest; some even call the driver to book seats before arriving at the stage.

She disclosed the amount of money the matatu makes daily.
