"Due to a temporary disruption in fuel supply at JKIA, our morning flights are delayed. Our fuel provider has resolved the issue, and we are now fueling ready for boarding. Unfortunately, this will affect our service throughout the day," read the statement in part.
Jambojet reassured travellers that flights from its Mombasa hub, operating under the JM87XX prefix, are unaffected and will continue as scheduled.
In its notice to customers, Kenya Airways also reported flight disruptions at the JKIA.
"Due to maintenance of the fuel hydrants that extended beyond the planned duration at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we have experienced delays in our morning flight departures. The situation has normalised, and most of our morning flights have departed. Our dedicated teams are working tirelessly to recover our departure and arrival schedule by midday today, and we appreciate your understanding and patience during this time," Kenya Airways said.
In other news related to the JKIA, the proposal to hand over the airport to Adani Airports Holding has been put on hold.
Appearing before the Senate Committee on Transport on Monday, September 23, Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) John Mbadi confirmed that the deal was yet to be signed.
Mbadi noted that the Public Private Partnership (PPP) committee halted the deal's due diligence exercise until the matter in court was settled.
Mbadi told the Kiambu Senator Karungo Thangwa-led committee that should the court uphold the deal, the Indian firm will not get clearance from the PPP committee until it meets some conditions.
The High Court announced the new date for the proceedings in the case, which blocks the implementation of the JKIA-Adani lease deal, as October 17.
This is after the Wiper Party, KANU, and DAP Kenya joined in the matter on Monday, September 23.
