A heartwarming video has captured the moment that a matatu driver and a boda driver stopped traffic on the highway to allow school-going children to cross the road safely.

A Kenyan woman who posted the clip praised the Naekena Sacco driver for prioritising the kids' safety and inspiring other road users, including the boda boda operator, to follow suit.

In the TikTok clip, the driver is seen halting his journey momentarily as the large group of schoolkids crosses the road, which has earned him praise on social media.

All other motorists, including the one who recorded the video, followed the matatu driver's example, allowing the children and their teachers ample time to get to the other side of the highway

"Shout out to Naekana Sacco! This driver stopped traffic so these children could safely cross the road," the woman captioned the clip.

Coming at a time when matatu drivers are regularly called out for flouting traffic rules, the PSV driver seemingly restored hope that there are still good motorists on Kenyan roads.

Matatu driver blocks Jogoo road for pupil to pick books

Elsewhere, TUKO.co.ke reported a matatu driver named Frederick Ayaga was praised for blocking the busy Jogoo Road to allow a pupil to collect his books safely.

The school-going child was on a boda boda when his books fell out of the bag and landed on the road.

Netizens praised him for breaking the norm with matatu crews to show humanity to the young boy.
