The DCI said anyone with information that could help re-arresting Jumaisi will be given a cash reward.
"A significant cash reward will be provided to anyone with credible information leading to the suspect's arrest. The suspect is from Shiru sub-location, Shaviringa location, Hamisi sub-county in Vihiga county," the DCI statement read in part.
However, the DCI did not disclose the exact reward amount for information on Jumaisi's whereabouts, describing it only as "significant."
The statement by DCI attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans, some questioning why the amount was not made public.
Other Kenyans wondered why the DCI was not interested in pursuing the 12 Eritreans who escaped together with Jumaisi.

"We also want to see the faces of 12 Eritreans!"
Mudge Rulf:
"You let him go then you are now asking the public for help. Do you think the public is idle?"
Cornelius K. Ronoh:
"We will not cooperate with you to cover up your mess. Your rogue police officers brutalized young Kenyans! They are the real criminals you should go after, not Collins!"
@DanChepta:
"How much will you provide as rewards? Nowadays, we do not trust any promises made by government officials. Please provide the exact amount."
Kj Mpoa:
"No sane Kenya will disclose the information to you because you are not to be trusted."
Nusrat Mohammed:
"Since you love narrating stories. Explain in detail the entire scenario of how a suspect escaped police custody and the parties involved. One measly sentence isn't sufficient."
Cater Ph Daniels
"But they did not pay those Kitui guys who arrested the 3 Alshaab."
KA DO LI:
"Watume nusu kwanza."
Meanwhile, leaders took to social media to express their disbelief, questioning how the 12 managed to escape from Gigiri Police Station given its tight security.
Outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna argued that if Jumaisi disappeared from the station, then he was not responsible for the mass murder, mutilation and dumping of innocent Kenyans at the Mukuru quarry.
