Kirinyaga Man Who Went Missing Found Dead In Rice Farm: "Nani Alimuua?"

Residents of Mwea constituency in Kirinyaga county are in shock after a man who had been missing for five days was found dead in a rice farm canal.

What happened to the Kirinyaga man?

The 25-year-old man, Joseph Munyi, was found dumped in a rice farm by area residents who were cutting grass.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Mwea East Sub-county Police Commander Patrick Nyaanga stated that Munyi had serious facial injuries when he was found.

Area residents who were at the scene said that the deceased went missing on Wednesday, August 14.

They stated that Munyi's mother and villagers had been searching for him in vain.

"We wonder who could kill him and dump his body in a rice farm water canal," one resident said.

Munyi's colleague mentioned that the last time she saw him, he was alive, which led her to suspect that he was murdered.

Police have since launched an investigation into the matter.

"We have launched investigations to establish exactly what happened to Munyi," police commander Nyaaga said.

The late Munyi's body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home pending a postmortem.

Kisii man who'd gone missing found dead in well

In a separate incident, police in Kisii county launched an investigation after a man's body was found dumped in a well.

Abel Nyakundi, 40, from Kitutu Chache South in Kisii county, was reported missing on Tuesday, April 9.

A day later, he was found dead, and the body was dumped in a well in the Kanunda area.

Reports seen by TUKO.co.ke indicated the Kisii county disaster management team retrieved the body immediately upon arrival.

Police had the task of establishing whether Nyakundi was killed or he slipped into the well unknowingly.

The incident instilled fear in Kisii residents, who called on the government to beef up security in the area.
