Nakuru County – Simon Ng’etich, a boda boda rider from Kuresoi North, was left devastated after returning from work to find his home reduced to ashes.
The tragic incident occurred while Simon was out working, leaving him with nothing but the clothes he was wearing.
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Simon disclosed that he had been concerned about the electrical connection in his house for several days.

According to him, the lights had been alternating between bright and dim, a sign of an underlying issue that needed urgent attention.
“The light kept alternating between bright and dim, so I planned on getting a technician to repair it,” Simon explained, his voice heavy with grief.
Unfortunately, before he could arrange for repairs, the worst happened.
Simon suspects that faulty wiring may have caused two cables to come into contact, sparking the blaze that destroyed his home.
As the fire raged, neighbours rushed to the scene but could not save Simon's belongings, fearing that the gas cylinder inside the house might explode.
Their fears were confirmed when the gas container eventually blew up, exacerbating the already intense fire.
“It was difficult to salvage things because everyone was scared about the gas inside,” Simon recounted, the pain of the loss evident in his words.
The fire has left Simon heartbroken. He now faces the daunting task of rebuilding his life from scratch.

Apart from his belongings, he also lost the laptop which he uses to earn a living.
The incident occurred shortly after the nationwide power outage, forcing some residents to light candles.
