List Of Projects William Ruto Will Launch During His Nyanza Tour

• President William Ruto will on Wednesday, August 28, start a four-day development visit to the Luo Nyanza region
• The visit will take him to all four counties of Luo Nyanza, which are Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori and Siaya
• As it has been in recent tours in other regions, the head of state will launch several development projects

President William Ruto is on Wednesday, August 28, set to start a three-day development tour to the Luo Nyanza region.

During the tour, the president is expected to launch several projects as well has hold meet-the-people meetings across Migori, Siaya, Homa Bay and Kisumu counties.

Which projects will Ruto launch in Migori?

A statement from the state house indicate that the tour will begin in Migori county with the president scheduled to launch Kegonga Cluster Water Project in Kuria East.

He will also inspect Lower Kuja Irrigation Project and commission long stalled Migori-Muhuru and Masara-Sori main roads.

Construction works on the two roads have stalled for about three years.

However, with the new-found close working relationship between the head of state and former prime minister Raila Odinga, locals are hopeful that the two main roads will be complete to help open economic growth of the region.

"We have lost a lot due to this road. Our businesses are down but with the good political relation with the president we are hopeful that it's going to be completed.

"We are happy the president has decided to visit us and we welcome him. As Kenyans living here, we are hopeful we'll benefit from his visit," said Ken Onyango, a resident.

Similar sentiments were shared by Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko.

Ayacko told the media on Tuesday, August 27, that the county is ready for the president’s visit.

“We are expectant with the president's visit and Migori being a cosmopolitan county a lot is expected,” the governor said

Construction of the Ngere-Mapera Road will also be launched during the visit.

Which other projects will Ruto launch in Nyanza?

In Homa Bay, Ruto is scheduled to commission Oyugis Water Project, inspection the Homa Bay Fish Market at Koginga beach, and launch construction of Rusinga Ring Road.

He is also expected to attend the thanks-giving service for Finance Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi at Magunga area on Thursday, August 29.

On the president’s third day of the Nyanza visit, he will be in Raila’s rural county, Siaya, where he will commission Mageta Island Solar PV Mini Grid, launch Siaya ESP market and Siaya Rice Mill before attending a thanks-giving service for Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi.

The president will conclude the tour in Kisumu county on Saturday August 31, where he will commission Kisumu Marine School, Kibos Rice Mill, Lumumba AHP and Nyabondo Trauma Centre.

Kisii couple hosts William Ruto

Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that couple in Kisii county expressed their joy after hosting Ruto in their mud house on Wednesday, August 14.

In an online video, Ruto is seen walking with the couple in Bonchari while exchanging pleasantries.

The woman, wrapped in a green leso, and the man, dressed in a white t-shirt and black trousers, are seen leading the way into the house with the head of state following behind.
