Japhet also disclosed that the musician's last request was to pray for him so he could shoot a music video with him.

"Juzi umeniambia (Recently he told me,) 'I am proud of you my teacher' neno la mwisho ukaniambia “Niombee nipone nije nishoot wimbo wa AKIDA pamoja nanyi' (Your last words to me were 'pray for me to get well so that we can shoot the Akida song together'), Marco wangu. Why," he said.

In another, he painfully lamented to God, noting that he had asked him to heal his brother and trusted him.

"Sikutaka kupost chochote kuhusu hili maana nilikuachia wewe Mungu lakini Mungu sasa umenifanyia nini hiki. (I did not want to post anything since I had left you in the hands of God but God what is this you have done?). Nooooo haiwezi kuwa hivi hapana (It can't be this way). Ooh God nooo," Japhet added.

Did Ruto meet with Marco Joseph before his death?

Shortly after the news of his death broke, a photo of Marco and other choir members during their Kenyan visit surfaced.

They graced President William Ruto’s swearing-in ceremony to perform his favourite tune. In Mkono Wa Bwana, Zabron Singers outline how God has held their hands and uplifted them.

The photo captured at State House, Nairobi, depicted Ruto and his wife Rachel sandwiched between female singers.

Marco and the rest of the men made the back row. Everyone at the Kasarani venue rose when Marco and the choir sang the song.

However, it was not Zabron Singers' first interaction with the president. Before the 2022 General Election, Ruto sought permission from the choir to use the song during campaigns.

The song was synonymous with the Kenya Kwanza campaign rallies.

  • Victoria, the goner's sister, spoke about her brother's final moments and sickness.
  • A video of the soloist Marco pleading with God to heal his heart resurfaced online.
  • Marco's widow could not hide her emotions after viewing the late singer's body at the morgue.
