A man in Murang'a county who had planned a beautiful wedding is still reeling in shock after the day turned into a burial day for his lover.

Stanley Macharia was looking forward to marrying the love of his life, Nancy Muthoni, but his dreams were shattered.

When was Muthoni, Macharia expected to wed?

The couple was meant to marry on Saturday, August 17, but Muthoni died a few days before their big day.

The cause of the lady's death remained a mystery, but her untimely demise left many in pain and shock.

Wedding, burial at St John's Pumwani ACK Church

"Nancy, however, passed a few days ago, and she is being laid to rest on the day she was to walk down the aisle," read a post.

As she was laid to rest, Muthoni was adorned in her wedding dress, and the bridesmaids also wore the dresses they were meant to wear on her wedding day.

The service occurred at St John's Pumwani ACK Church, where the couple were supposed to exchange vows.

The church was packed as friends, families, and guests turned up for the occasion, as they had planned had Muthoni been alive.

Wedding, burial held in Kirinyaga county

Separately, a wedding and a burial ceremony were held simultaneously at a Catholic church in Rukenya, Kirinyaga county.

The remarkable event happened as Martin Gitari and Beatrice, his betrothed, were slated to exchange vows on this auspicious day.

Tragically, fate intervened as Martin passed away before the anticipated wedding day, but the wedding continued in honouring his fervent desire.
