The development left the school community and victims' families in shock and searching for answers.
Among the many questions raised is why the bursar intern and a Form Four student were inside the dormitory while other students were praying.
The school’s management called in the fire brigade after discovering the dormitory ablaze.
Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters discovered two bodies burned beyond recognition.
A subsequent headcount led the school to identify the victims as 17-year-old Aron Kirui and Mr Peter Muhari, 24.
"The school has informed us that police are handling the investigation, but we are still waiting for answers on what happened," a family member said.
The school was closed for a week following the incident, with all students released to their families.
As investigations continue, several students have been interviewed and have provided statements to the authorities before being sent home.
The county police boss confirmed that the school principal and security personnel on duty during the fire also recorded statements.
Kenya Power officials have since visited the school to assess whether a power fault could have triggered the fire.
With their findings yet to be released and investigations still underway, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
This tragic event comes just weeks after a similar disaster at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri.
In the Endarasha tragedy, 21 students tragically lost their lives in a dormitory fire, leaving the community grappling with grief.
The recurrent fire tragedies have led to heightened concern over the safety of students, especially in boarding schools.
Meanwhile, families are hoping for answers to the troubling questions surrounding the deaths of their loved ones.
