In Kimolwet Village, Kabisaga Ward, Nandi County, a young woman named Lucy Chepkorir endures unimaginable hardship.
The 20-year-old has spent her entire life battling epilepsy, a condition that has only worsened over time due to her inability to afford the medicine necessary to manage it.
Alfred Koech told TUKO.co.ke that Lucy’s story is one of quiet suffering as she comes from a humble background.

He explained that her mother is the sole provider for the family, relying on manual labour to put food on the table.
The burden on her shoulders grew heavier after Lucy’s father was involved in a tragic accident.
"It left him incapacitated and unable to contribute to the family's wellbeing," he siad.
The challenges of living with epilepsy have been compounded by an incident that left Lucy with severe burns on her leg.
A seizure caused her to fall into a fire, resulting in the loss of part of her leg.
Since then, her condition has deteriorated further, leaving her bedridden for the past five years.
Unable to function properly, Lucy spends her days alone when her mother goes out to work, rendering her vulnerable to the dangers of isolation.
This grim reality was brought to light by a concerned neighbour, Sheila, who shared her story, hoping the community might offer support.
Sheila revealed that Lucy’s daily dose costs just KSh 50, but even this small amount is beyond the family’s reach.
Apart from the medicine, the young woman needs clothing, adult diapers, and new bedding.
"She should also be enrolled to the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to ease the financial burden of her medical care," Sheila requested.
It is hoped that compassionate individuals and organizations will step forward to provide the assistance she so desperately needs.
As of the time of filing this story, well-wishers had raised KSh 15,000 towards the course.
In an earlier story, popular content creator Alice Chebet aka Kienyeji Pro Max had been a Form Two student but missed most classes due to fee arrears.
Well-wishers launched an initiative to educate her, upon which she agreed to join a boarding school and start afresh in Form One.
The school was also kind enough to allow visits from her producer to keep her TikTok content alive.
