"I feel loved and respected. I feel people want to appreciate all the hard work and all the sacrifices to make sure that people have the correct news. Trending news on time. It's high time I feel people are behind me. I can tell people that I have fans and family. From where I started, I believe I deserved this for the sleepless nights for all the sacrifices I have made," he said.
Kido revealed that his life had transformed due to his hard work. He used to live in a KSh 8,000 house but moved into a KSh 20,000 house.
"I wasn't driving. I was using a matatu. Right now, I am driving. I used to stay in a house worth KSh 8,000, and I moved to a house worth KSh 20,000. I believe that I am doing my level best. My hard work also landed me a radio gig. It's all about being patient, but I believe I was born to work hard," Kido added.
The SPM Buzz host said that he grew up with a single mum and had many plans for his family, as they are his biggest motivation.
"My biggest motivation is the people around me. Where I have come from my family, my mum and my siblings. They want the best for me. Coming from a humble background and being raised by a single mum, you always look back. The people looking up to you, I always want to work hard. I want to be in a better position," he said.
In other news, Kido revealed that he started as a hawker, and at one point, he earned KSh 50 for pushing a stalled car in traffic.
During his early hustling days in Nairobi, the young man also lived with seven men, sharing a KSh 7,000 rent.
Joining SPM Buzz in 2022 under Eddie Butita's digital platform marked a turning point in Kido's career.
