“His thoughtful contribution brought us together for a memorable meal, fostering unity and gratitude within our school community," added the school.
In the video seen by TUKO.co.ke, some students are seated in what looks like a dining hall with plates full of rice, chicken, chapati, cabbage, a banana, and a bottle of soda for each.
Others are captured happily lining up to be served the special meal funded by the president. More packets of soda can also be seen, showing just how plentiful the food and drinks were.
In addition, State House Girls noted that the meal was timely as it came during the student council handover.
“It was a delightful way to celebrate the student council handover and honor our school’s traditions,” the school noted.
Reacting to the video, some Kenyans expressed admiration for the girls, comparing their time in high school to the students'.
“The girls are eating so well, I never saw this kind of food during my days in boarding school,” Sherry said.
Brendah 254 wrote:
“If I had this in high school, I would have become a doctor.”
Ruth Mwangi, on the other hand, reminisced on the time she was in the school:
“I used this hall for meals in 2021 KCSE maths paper 2 marking.”
In a previous report by TUKO.co.ke, Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja paid an impromptu visit to State House Girls students.
The county boss who joined the girls for lunch said he was excited to interact with them and listen to their aspirations and dreams as they study to achieve their goals.
