Why did Winfred Yavi pick Bahrain over Kenya?

In a past interview, the Makueni-born athlete explained why she chose to run for Bahrain.

Yavi said that she faced stiff competition in the team Kenya trials and could not get an opportunity to represent the country.

In 2016, she emerged third overall, but they were only picking the top two, and she was locked out.

When Bahrain came calling, she took up the opportunity.
